a month later...

It's been a month since I last blogged. It's not because I have stopped blogging... Just that the lack of internet connection at the office made it cumbersome for me to do so.

Tonight, I am making an effort to write an entry. I just got home from work (yes, occasionally I go home late already) but I promised a friend I'd update my blog. And this is it. =) It's touching to hear from people for me to update my page. All along, I thought no one was dropping by to check if I had written anything new!

A month at my workplace and I’m still loving it! The perks that I've been getting (i.e. 6k as an optical allowance and a service car to give me a ride home every time I work late) and the friends that I’ve been making (I have constant yosimates and acquaintances from different floors), as well as the new things I'm learning and working on, are too great too wonderful to express.

Finances are pretty tight because I had to give up all my credit cards and pay them off in full. Actually, my parents paid them first... Now, I'm paying them. Ergo, no moolah.

This, of course, translates to a non-existent social life. I haven’t gone out much for the past two months. Except for a dinner out with my married friends, lunch with the BSY folks, coffee with Cookie, and one date with P. All in the last two weeks. Most of which were treats. Hehehe =)

I'm happy. Without a doubt, I really am. Unlike I’ve ever been before.

I thought I’d be more complete if I had boyfriend to complete me.

Without a doubt, I have come to accept things are positively going my way (even though things a less than perfect.) I have come to accept singlehood (and penniless for about a year) and my fate of being a career woman rather than the housewife I thought I wanted. In the office, most of the top positions are secured by the women. A lot of the girls at work are late twenties to late thirties who are single and successful. Most of the guys are gay, too! Of course, that's cause I belong to a marketing group.

I haven't totally left the IT world but I did leave the IT industry. The new world of marketing in a different industry is literally a new world for me. I guess this makes the acceptance of my state (loving the fact that I'm alone and without a significant other) so much easier. The romantic (and desperate) in me is suddenly replaced by the desire to succeed and achieve what the women in my office have done... And more.
