steaming hot

I went out with my cousins (and their friends) on a gimik last Friday night. We had dinner at Greenbelt 3 and the older ones went to Hard Rock for some dancing afterwards. The kids stayed in Timezone and caught a movie before going home around midnight.

Mark (from the previous post) followed around 1am because he had a prior engagement. Shortly after he arrived, my balikbayan cousins decided to call it a night. I was supposed to go home with them considering we all lived in the East, while the rest of the guys stayed in the south. But my cousin insisted I "entertain" Mark since he just arrived.

Entertained him, I did. I was dancing with two guys very well. (At least that's what Mark told me a couple of nights later.) In the end, Mark, Kris, and I closed the place. Kris insisted he wanted to sing so we ended up in some sleazy videoke bar where you can get yourself killed singing My Way. I honestly didn't want to go/stay there but I had no choice. I don't have any freaking idea where I was in Pasay, much more be able to get home in my tipsy state.

Around 4am, after singing Crazy for You (Madonna) and With a Smile (Eraserheads), I wanted to call it a night. Neither one of the guys wanted to leave yet, since another friend of theirs was coming any second. I asked Kris to have my 500 bucks changed to smaller bills so I can take a cab home. While he was doing that, Mark was convincing me to stay for just awhile longer. He said he's a bit uncomfy leaving so soon when the other guy just arrived. I said it's ok, I have to go home and I can do so on my own (I prayed!)

But before walking out of the "club", I took an adventure going to the ladies restroom where I can barely breathe. God, if only Pasay wasn't so far away and I wouldn't be peeing on my pants, I would have foregone that trip.

After that, I headed outside, to the streets and waited for a cab. Kris thought it's ok to let me go home on my own, while Mark insisted he brings me home. They had some guy bickering for a couple of minutes and finally, he opened his car and I got in.

(I want to remember every single moment of this, so forgive me if it gets too graphic for you.)

I placed my hand on his and I apologized for making him leave his friends, knowing that he wanted to stay. He said it's ok, he promised my cousin he'll bring me home and that's what he's doing.

He never let my hand go. As he shifted gears, my hand went along on top of his.

Somewhere in Makati on the way to C5, I felt really uncomfortable in the seat and wanted to sleep (that's how it is when I get drunk.) I shifted from leaning on the windows to the left side of the head rest, near him, because the window felt so hard. He placed his arm around me and moved my head on the crook of his shoulder.

God, I missed that feeling.

He dropped a kissed on my forehead...

Sweet.

Before he kissed me on the lips...

One word.

Breathless.

And wanting more...

In the middle of the Kalayaan-C5 intersection, I experienced one of most passionate kisses in my entire life. Yes, it's a bit chessy or gross, depending on whose opinion, but at 430am, I didn't care. I didn't care if someone saw us or that cars behind us were honking because the light changed green.

You can imagine how it was with every stop light we encountered (which was few). For brief seconds, I'd be experiencing a kiss that could steam up the entire car. I felt it and he felt it, too.

We only kissed on the third date (in a week's time!) I can't describe how it was exactly but I felt it was definitely worth the wait. (God, I could still feel his mouth on my lips until now.)

All good things must come to an end. You can imagine my dismay when we entered my subdivision. We ended the morning with a soft kiss on the lips and a very warm hug. He wanted to come down the car and bring me to the gate but I stopped. My parents were awake at that time already.

*sigh*

I'm in lust.

p.s. Good thing he doesn't know this blog. I learned my lesson already. :)

blurred

I have been wearing glasses since I was in forth grade. (Yes, I am a nerd and looked like one, too, in my younger days!) Although, this is genetic, my mom blames my love for reading as the main source for my deteriorating eye sight.

Lately, I've been experiencing really bad headaches when I'm using my specs. Things are not as clear as they are supposed to be. In fact, it's blurred. I have a trouble using my computer, which I'm using for at least eight hours a day. When I get home, watching tv is as bad. Now, I have to read without my specs so that I can be at ease.

I actually wear contact lens. Been doing so since I was in third year highschool. It's because of this that I developed Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis (GPC), an allergy in the eye lids that causes contact lens intolerance, itching, among other things. Last year, I was told by the optometrist to consult an opthalmologist for my problem.

And I did. After meeting my very cute eye doctor, Dr. Leo, and him prescribing me to get off my extended lenses, treat myself, and shift to two-weeks disposable, I was ok. So I normally wear contacts when I'm gimicking (for aesthetic purposes) but I stick with my glasses at work (makes me look more professional) and for most part of the day since I can't wear contacts for more than 10 hours.

But now it's nagging me. I'm using contacts for more than 10 hours due to work and gimiks because my glasses are giving me a hard time. I was advised by the optometrist to get myself refracted by an opthalmologist. That means, I have to go all the way to Makati and see my cute eye doctor again. It's good if only it wasn't a hassle. His clinic hours are during office hours (which means I have to take a leave) and I have to not use my contacts for 48hours straight before having my check-up.

48 hours. That is the most difficult thing.

Point of this post: Sometimes, even though I know what needs to be done, I can't bring myself to comply because of the discomfort I'd be feeling in attempting to attain my goal. *sigh*

I promise to go to my eye doctor as soon as I get two days straight off contacts. Pray that I don't have gimik on the long weekend. (But I doubt it, considering it's my lola's 82th birthday and we'll be having a grand celebration. I can't afford to experience headaches using my glasses.)

freaking hang over

Last night, my balikbayan cousin, cousin-in-law, and I met up with their respective friends for some major hanging out. We went beer and food binging in three different places from Megamall to Timog.

We ended up in a comedy club in Timog where my stomach ached from all the green jokes the badings were throwing to the crowd. In our table of eight, one of us was "luckily" chosen to come up the stage and sing. For the sake of this post, let's call him Mark. Of course, before Mark could actually sing, he was initiated with the usual pang-aalaska of the hosts from his shirt to his hips (his is bigger than mine, I think.) At least he wasn't pikon and just laughed the jokes being said about him.

Upon the requests of another friend, he sang "The Reason" by Hoobastank and "Rainbow" of South Border. In fairness, he had a nice voice.

Around midnight, my cousin and the rest wanted to go home already. But Mark and I were in the middle of a serious discussion (a.k.a. his love life). I don't exactly remember what happened but I ended up not hitching with my cousin and him ditching his friend who rode with him.

We spent a couple of hours talking at a Starbucks near there. His treat. (Me thinks it's "payment" for psychological consultation with yours truly.) It was the first time we were out alone despite the fact that we've had private discussions within the group in the two gimiks we had.

In the midst of us drinking our white chocolate mocca, I took the chance to get a really good look at him. Two things: I like his eyes and lips.

Truth be told, I wanted him to kiss me. I would have given anything to feel that. I guess the romantic in me started imagining us looking intently at each other's eyes, he lowers his head, until he softly touches my lips with his. The rest I leave to your imagination...

But then we're in public and I'm not the kind of girl who makes the first move. (Snap out of it, Cecil!) So I ended up in my side of the table and him on his. Kinda reminded me of certain scenes on the show Blind Date and their snide cartoons.

He brought me home around 3am and did a first for me... He got out of his car and walked me to the gate. Not one of my dates and ex-boyfriends ever did that unless they were coming in. I texted him my thanks (not remembering if I actually thanked him for the coffee and the ride) and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I woke up this morning with a text message from him:
Thanks din. I had a great time. Sorry though If I was still caught up in my present situation. [Regarding a bet we made before he brought me home] It's no big deal really. Its for you to find out na lang. Hehe
Now I'm suffering from lack of sleep, a very bad hang over, and looking forward to the next time we see each other [which is on Friday].

what's the sitch, b?

In a world where all people are related in the nth degree, it has been made smaller by the wonders of the internet.

Daphne and Mitchel used to be together, as was Benedict and I. By some freaking miracle of the internet and common friends, Daphne and Benedict became friends and so did Mitchel and I. But the boys were never friends, like us girls never became friends.

In a world of full of hang-ups and unresolved issues left in the air, I doubt same-sexed people will ever be friends. All of us claim to be just friends with the other person. Except that someone's been putting color to things. Someone is manipulating things to satisfy his/her own agenda, while others may not admitting what the others claimed.

Given the following facts, could someone please explain to me what's really going on?
  1. Benedict tells me that Mitchel told Daphne not to talk to him again. He claims that he and Daphne just laughed at Mitchel's childish jealousy. While Mitchel said he never said anything like that, nor would Daphne.

  2. Benedict also claims that Mitchel is projecting to Daphne that he and I are together. While I very well know this was never the case (nor would likely happen ever), like Benedict claims that he and Daphne are just friends. Of course, Mitchel denies that he ever projected or mentioned even a mutual understanding between us and tells me that Benedict is just playing me.

  3. Mitchel claims he trusts Daphne with his life and would never think she's capable of doing of something like that. Whereas, Benedict thinks I'm lying to him about my relationship with Mitchel and that I'm just out to con him.
My analytical mind tells me that Benedict drives this, but it's Daphne is the navigator and she has the map. She holds the key to all of this because the only side not established is hers. While Mitchel is not being completely open.

I just want to know the truth. Could you please tell me?

p.s. I might be opening another Pandora's box here. God bless me us.

baby lust

My cousin, Hazel, from the U.S. arrived a couple of weeks ago with a new hubby and baby in tow. After not seeing her for a little less than three years, I missed my waxing, coffee, chismisan buddy rolled in one.

Now I think I'll miss her more.

Primarily because of Mandy.

Another cousin, Angie, teased me the whole weekend. According to her, I'm experiencing "baby lust". Whatever. I think my maternal instincts are kicking in.

jologs night

I became jologs last night. In a really bad and negative way.

Last week, a girlfriend of mine (name withheld per her request) invited me to accompany her to a premiere of the Filipino flick, Minsan Pa. I rarely watch a Filipino flick on the theaters and never did on a premier. But I wanted to get together with her, so I said "sure" with a lot of reservations.

Now, I have proven the validity of why I had reservations.

They roughly translated the title Minsan Pa as "One Moment More". I can't say I agree with the translation. Minsan is "sometimes" or "one time" or "moment", depending on the context, while Pa is a superlative.

Alternate titles, I would suggest: (Although I don't know if it sounds better!)

A Moment More
One More Time
God, please shoot me after watching this film
(Feel free to add some more...)

The night started with a mishap. It became pretty bad considering that we didn't have tickets and we weren't on the guest list that we were supposed to be in. I wanted to run for cover at that time because I was really ashamed to be seen so eager to watch this thing. I honestly kept praying that I wouldn't be seen by someone I knew. The thought of explaining "No-it's-not-what-you-think" or "I'm-just-here-with-a-friend" or "It's-a-free-movie" seemed too lame and defensive.

Luckily, the girl at the gate, who we later found to be in the movie, was nice enough to let us in without my friend's contact.

Needless to say, I had a lousy night amidst all the fans screaming "I love you, Ara (Mina)!" or "I love you, Christian (Vasquez)!" when they entered the moviehouse. Apparantly, the other protagonist, Jomari Yllana, was in the other theater. Made me wonder which of the two was actually better to be in.

Finally, the movie started. I hate it when people talk in the movies cause it breaks my concentration. However, last night, I committed the sin! My friend and I spent more than half the movie dissing it and waiting for it to end. I swear, had the artists not been sitting on the front row, I would have dragged my friend by the hair and walked out. But I didn't think I could handle it if someone (production crew, bodyguard, or press) stopped me and asked what the hell was I doing.

I don't do movie reviews cause I feel I don't have enough credibility to actually analyze the cinematography of a flick, but I really have to vent my thoughts on this flick.
  1. They were trying hard in speaking Cebuano. I don't speak Cebuano, but my dad's from Iloilo and can speak both Ilonggo and Bisaya, and I thought they suck. Much more with my friend who is actually from Cebu.
  2. The movie was D-R-A-G-G-I-N-G. Gawd, some scenes should really have been left out. The freaking flick lasted more than two hours! It seemed longer than Troy, but at least with Troy, there were really good-looking hunks.
  3. The actors do not show the emotions in their faces. I wanted to laugh (which I actually did!) when they were trying to emote.
  4. Any good points they had in the movie, such as quotable quotes, were buried under the bad acting, script, and everything else.
  5. Although the singers who actually sang in the movie were good, I can't believe the three of them sang the whole songs (complete with the subtitle!) in the movie. That's roughly 15minutes worth of movie time!
  6. Speaking of subtitles, whoever did the translation did it pretty bad and too simple that it complete lost the message. The thoughts were incompletely translated that they missed out some good points.
  7. Good luck if they're planning to pass this off as an art film!
Of course, I cannot go on thinking it was a bad experience (even if it was really a very bad movie!) My highlights for the night involved the beach and underwater shots they took. Man, I felt like I wanted to scuba dive right there and then. It was that good!

What I learned from last night: Never to watch the premiere of a Filipino flick. A camera might just appear in front of you and you'll be forced to lie through your teeth and say "Ang ganda-ganda! A must see film!"

p.s. I apologize for all of you who love the movie or the artistas involved. This is my own opinion. And my blog.

post boitday party post

I went on an extended holiday (work and otherwise). Hence, I'm only posting only now. For pictures not shown here, please click this link.

My Party Highlights (Random) and Happy Thoughts:

  • After a very pensive pre-birthday jitters, I was able to let go off the feeling the night of my party. I was able to get people from different parts of my life inside my home. People from school (gs, hs, college, and masters), work (even from previous), and those I met through friends and the internet.

  • Despite the light rain and the heavy traffic, I was VERY happy to see most of my friends red-faced for one night. I don't really like getting people drunk, just tipsy enough to let their hair down in singing with the magic sing and dancing to the tune to whoever was singing.

  • Great food catered by a family friend and paid for by my loving parents. And the fact that everyone enjoyed the food (and drinks!) My parents pulling a joke on me by having written 20 on the birthday cake rather than 26. Apparently, they think I really haven't gotten any older since I still live with them.

  • I didn't run out of beer but my dad did (mine's San Mig Light, his was Pale Pilsen). Thanks to Dexter and Ara's gifts of tequila and mud slide respectively for my non-beer drinking friends.

  • Litany of friends doing unexpected things: (1) A friend getting really wasted on my birthday; (2) Another friend staying over to help clean up the mess; (3) A friend swing dancing with me; (4) A lot of people uninhibitedly singing on my party; and (5) Two of my favorite boys gave me the greatest gift of singing live (acoustic).

To wrap it all up, I really had a wonderful and special time. Thanks to all those who came. To those who didn't, there's always next year (I hope! Assuming I'm still here in Manila. Else, we'll be partying on the streets in San Diego, California.)

Next stop: Christmas!

* * *

I think I kissed and hugged more guys (and girls) that night more than any other night in my life.

Special thanks to all those who brought something along... I got a dozen white tulips, balloon setting (with winnie the pooh), night shirt, blouse, bag, wallet, conditioner, lotion, bracelets, alcoholic beverages, lipstick, before sunset vcd, mixed music cds, candle burner, pen, among other things.

Special mention of Cookie's post. Parang friendster testimonial ang dating ah. You're welcome. I don't mind doing it again the next time it happens. Assuming, of course, we'll have someone with us to drive us both home.

Which reminds me... A very special thanks to a friend (you know who you are) for helping me bring Cookie home.

family pics at dad's

It has only been recently that my family bonded. As kids, we never cared much for dinners together. So until now, we have the tendency to eat together and eat fast. (Normally, we bond during grocery shopping. I'm not exactly sure why.)

Last night's dinner was one of the rare and remarkable times we bonded and had fun over dinner.

On a crazier note:

I love my family!!!

birthday thanks

This is my "thank-you-for-bearing-up-with-me-when-I-was-miserable-days-before-my-my birthday" and "thank-you-for-remembering-my-my birthday" post.

I'm a mababaw person. It doesn't take much to make me happy really. But I want to highlight the things that "up-ed" me on this particulary pensive my birthday (in chronological order):

1. This blogger's November 9 post is dedicated to me. I swear you really made me cry with the simple but sweet gesture. I'm expecting the dance on Friday night.

2. Friends who tried to talk me out of my depression, especially my college friends YM chat. You guys have been there for me, even though I'm unbearable.

3. Free beer at Sidebar. The CFO decided to welcome my birthday with two rounds of beer at Sidebar.

4. In turn, Sidebar gave me free cake cause it's my birthday.

5. A friend checking me up the night before my birthday, insisting that an episode of Sex and the City should cheer me up.

6. Phone calls from people I haven't heard from in months (years?) and birthday sms from people I didn't think would remember (or even knew when my birthday is). This would cover the countless of on line messages I got today when I checked.

7. Early morning mass and breakfast with my family reminding me that I have a lot to be thankful for.

8. Afternoon delight catching up with a friend I haven't talked to for sometime.

9. Lola's 1K gift is used as contribution for a very painful, yet inexpensive, derma treatment in the late afternoon. My cheeks are now bright-red tomatoes. Friends tell me I should tell people I got sun-burned in Bora. Funny thought cause I've never gone to Boracay.

10. A one-month old puppy, Jacky, birthday present from my parents. She's half-labrador and half-something else. Abbey, our pug, now has a sister.

11. Buffet dinner at Dad's. Even though it was my treat, it was the longest that my family spent on a dinner table at two hours! (We normally last 20 minutes.)

12. Dad's singers singing me "Happy birthday, Maam Cecil!" A first for me. Secretly, I have been wanting this for years now.

13. Sleeping with a full tummy and being able to wake up the day after my birthday feeling good.

Thank you to each and everyone who made me feel special yesterday (even those who forgot!).

*BIG HUG*

birthday post: about me

According to astrology.com, birthdayalarm's gift to me:

How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
You meet life head on and throw yourself into new experiences with zest and enthusiasm. You are direct, straightforward, assertive, and usually completely aboveboard in all your dealings. Candid and incapable of guile, insincerity or phoniness, you project a confident and sometimes arrogant appearance to others. You often lack tact and sensitivity, and can be completely oblivious to others' needs, and inadvertently selfish. You are self-reliant and don't depend upon social approval and reinforcement as much as other people do. You like to be original and do not mind going it alone. You may feel that you do not fit into groups very well, and that you do not naturally blend in and cooperate with others very easily. You like to be either a leader or a loner.
The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
Quiet, deep, emotionally complex and intensely private, you are not a person who is easy to get to know and understand. You are extremely sensitive but disinclined to show it, and you allow only a special few into your inner world. Like a wary animal, you are cautious and mistrustful of those you do not know until you "sniff them out". You are very, very instinctive and intuitive. You usually have a strong, immediate gut reaction to people, even though you may be unable to clearly articulate why you feel as you do. Your feelings and perceptions go deeper than words.
Quite accurate, I have to say. :)

dreaming of you

The car conversation of Jesse and Celine in the movie Before Sunset made me face the thought I have been hiding from all these months.

That you were (are) the greatest love of my life and that everyone else that comes after is a mere shadow of you. That the love I feel for them, no matter how great, is just a fraction of the love I felt (feel) for you.

I didn't want to believe that.

God knows it wouldn't be fair to the next one to come along. God knows that I have let you go and am sincerely happy for you and the love you found. God knows I'm ok with my life, though not at my best form, but still manageable. God knows that I've moved on.

But, why oh why, on the eve of my birthday, should I dream about you? Why should I see you so vividly in my dream, claiming the words that I wanted to hear from you six months ago, standing up to my father as he professed his dismay to your mere presence? Why should the memory of your embrace make me feel warm through the cold early morning weather? Why, as you stand before me with your hands on my arms, looking at me soulfully, do I feel so helpless and broken in spirit? Why am I so out of character when you are in my presence?

On one hand, I knew the dream is nothing more than just that. It will never happen in the future. I'm ok with that. Ecstatic, even. I'm better off without you, as you are much happier without me.

Time had passed since the last time we actually communicated. However, dreaming about you, I know that, one way or another, you are going to make your presence felt on the day most special to me. At the back of my mind, I hope that you would forget to remember as usually do, but I know that I would be sorely disappointed if you did.

Had I not dream my dream, had I not realize the value you still have on my life despite there is no "us" to speak of, had I not been lonely, I would have reacted differently to the simple birthday greeting you sent me.

I would have said something like, "You remembered? Gee, thanks! So how are you? Hope you and tut-tut are doing well."

Instead, I'm writing this post.

me, my bed, and i

I spent the whole weekend in my pjs and literally slept the two days off. After spending the month working my butt off (and a total of 60 hours overtime), I finally got some rest.

October 2004 was the month I worked hard and I partied hard. Last weekend, I felt it had finally taken its toll on me. So I slept. I woke up, forgetting to eat, and climbed back to bed. The most number of hours I was awake was 6 hours on Saturday night. I went to a friend's birthday party, then had coffee with a friend and his friends in Metrowalk, Ortigas.

But when I went home, I went back to sleeping. Slept through the whole Sunday, except for an hour, when the family and I went to mass.

It was late Sunday night that I finally made contact with someone from the living. After quarelling with him Saturday night, I called up him.

Somewhere between the small talk and his "favorite topic", he posted the question, "Are you lonely?"

Immediately, I replied, "Yes."

It was an honest answer. Too honest, in fact. Even for me. I wanted to take it back and say, "Hell, no, I'm not. I'm having the time of my life."

Despite the hectic month I just had at work, the numerous gimiks I had with friends, and the preparations for my birthday, I had been lonely. I have chosen to ignore the fact that all those activies were just a cover up to my real state.

Maybe it's pre-birthday jitters, he says.

Maybe. Maybe it isn't.

Maybe it is because I'm going to be a year older and I'm still alone.

Maybe I'm just drained with all the pressures from work. The mental pressure of meeting the deadline and the emotional pressure of losing the project.

Maybe it's the feeling you have of anticipating for the holidays, shopping for presents and decorating houses and trees, that when it finally arrives, you just lost all the ra-ra-rah.

Maybe I got lonely after I bid someone special goodbye.

Or maybe I'm just lonely to begin with and didn't realize it till last night.

Right now, I just want to go back to bed and sleep the rest of my lifetime off.

one week to go

One more week and I'll be a year older. I know I'm getting ahead of myself but my birthday is my most favorite holiday (even if it isn't one!)

A friend asked me over the weekend if I was excited (I sure am!) and if I already planned out what I wanted to wear for my party (Hmmmm, didn't think of that -- too occupied with the guest list and the booze!) He later asked me what I planned to give myself as a birthday present.

I thought about what I really want and think (still thinking) I deserve to have this year and the choices are (in order of preference and expense!):

LG: DVD 2.1 HC NE8421N

I really want one of these!!!

Boots: Bass Avena
I couldn't find the style that I really liked online but it pretty much looks like this. This is the Bass Rumer, an option I had considered. I prefer Bass Avena because it had a better fit on my feet. Oh, it has a cute little buckle, too!

The Spa: Javanese Royal Bath
A traditional treatment in preparation for the wedding day of royalties from Java, Indonesia. Famous for the soothing scent of LULUR, an exfoliating clay which helps remove dead skin cells and lighten skin color. Also with this treatment is a relaxing massage after soaking in a private whirlpool filled with fresh flowers and jasmine oil. For women only.
90 minutes.
I only experienced this once because it's too expensive but I can't wait for the next time (hopefully not just before my wedding!)

Jennifer Weiner's Little Earthquakes: A Novel
I saw this in National Bookstore a couple of weeks ago and resisted the urge to buy it since it was still in hardbound. Both my Jennifer Weiner books, Good in Bed and In Her Shoes are in paperback. I thought I'd wait a while till I can get the paperback edition that way it's cheaper! (Goodness, she has a blog in blogspot, too!)

Jane Green's The Other Woman
I love Jane Green's works (well, most of it.) I can't wait for her new book. It's not yet available in the Philippines, considering To Have and To Hold is still in hardbound here. (By the way, it's not about a mistress, rather the mother-in-law from hell.)

Now, if only I had money to burn...

nice guy

Last Saturday, I spent a night with a very nice "boy-friend" (name withheld per request).b

We met up after my dinner with Cookie at Cafe Breton, Podium and immediately went up to catch the 8pm screening of Before Sunset. We were some 10 minutes late so we ended up catching the first part of the 10pm screening.

We had a bit of a chat in between the movie showings and I found myself sitting in fornt of a guy who wouldn't mind watching chick flicks. You can imagine my delight at having found myself an instant movie buddy. Although, he pointed out, that we've only watched one movie together so we don't count as movie buddies yet.

We both liked the movie and we ended up talking about personal stuff. He tried his best to convince me to change my views on my non-existent lovelife. I found it admirable that he was pretty open about his personal life and views. I guess his experience with life and love has brought wisdom in his words. Though he may have juvenile tendencies, he's mature enough to handle the other stuff. I guess in his old self (him being n years older than me), the kid inside thrives.

After the movie, he we had dinner at UCC and I get to show him how great my phone-pda is. (The music at UCC sucked!) With over 100 mp3s in my SD card, we spent a couple of hours screening through the songs on my playlist. It was funny that despite him being n number of years my senior, we liked the same music, ranging from Craig David to Eminem, Black Eyed Peas to Red Hot Chili Peppers. And he admited he dances and likes to dance -- to the point that I dared him to go to Sidebar for some late night dancing. But he said, no, he was tired. (We're now scheduled for Sibil one of these days.)

A little after midnight, he started feeling woozy and I invited him to walk so that he can get some air. On the way to Emerald Ave., we talked about his frustrations about ex-girlfriends not wanting to watch him play basketball and my frustrations on ex-boyfriends not interested in the game. I told him I'd watch him play one of these days just so that it would lighten up his frustrations.

As we walked, we ended up singing With a Smile by the Eraserheads for lack of a better song to sing and he briefly mentioned he played the guitar. (I so love guys who know how to play the guitar!) We ended up at Starbucks in Emerald where I ordered him New York Cheesecake to satisfy his sweet tooth. We ended up looking at the full moon on the sky and talked about everything and nothing in particular.

By 130am it was time to go home. In the deserted street of Emerald Ave., he gave me a bear hug and a kiss on the forehead as send-off before I rode the cab.

By now, I would imagine, you'd be very kilig and thinking, "This is it! Goodness, she has found the one."

Truth be told, he fit the profile of what I'd want my guy to be. He came from one of the acceptable schools. He speaks good english, even writes and sings well. He plays basketball and the guitar. He likes movies and his taste in music is wide (like me!). He even loves shopping with girls. He loves food and cooks, too! He's taller than me and built bigger. He gives a great hug. He's a gentleman (i.e. never lets me pay for movies and dinner unless I offer to do so.) He wears glasses, which at times, I find cute. Ok, fine, according to him he's cute, too! And charming.

Well, sister, as much as I'd like to think I've found the one, I haven't.

Despite all what I have written on this great night and great guy, there's nothing to it than platonic friendship. There's no zsa zsa zsu to speak off that would make me think this would go into anything romantic.

The proofs that there's no emotinal thingy on it for me are (1) the fact that while he was with me, he called his ex-girlfriend for some urgent matter, and (2) he's too caught up with the girl he presently likes. I didn't feel jealousy or possessiveness or anything indicative that would make me think I like him more than a friend. Or maybe it's because I don't think he'd see me as the special someone, hence I wouldn't see him as such.

One thing's for sure, it would be such a waste of a beautiful friendship if the romantic notions of love ever happen on it.
