It's actually only been 10 days since Ivan and I decided to formalize our relationship.
It only took us a day to realize we want to spend the rest of our lives together.
For the next few days, we discussed what we wanted to do, namely:
- We need two years to save up for our wedding. Our prides are keeping us from asking from our folks. Besides, we want it to be our wedding and not their event.
- The church wedding date is set for December 7, 2007 (more or less) unless it happens sooner (which I doubt!) The civil, well, it's open to discussion except we're both scared our parents will skin us alive.
- We know we want it to be in a hotel because it's less hassle. However, that would mean we have to keep our guests limited to 150 since we don't want a big wedding (because that would mean bigger costs and longer time of
waiting saving up.) I have more of a problem here because I know more people than him. He's willing to just invite 60 and the rest are mine. - He'll leave the wedding arrangements with me, since he knows it's my forte. But anything to do with computers and gadgets, he'll definitely take the steering wheel.
- We know where we're going to live temporarily (as we both do not want to live with our parents,) so we need to save up for furnitures and fixtures until then. Our priorities are: bed, ref, microwave, and a computer, in that order.
- We want to have three kids. Well, he wants one originally, then a dozen! (Me thinks he just wants an excuse in making them. Hehehehe =))
Our officemates found us out last Wednesday after the holidays, and they haven't stopped kidding and being all
kilig about us. It was great to see everyone so supportive. The 18th floor people are already asking my boss (a.k.a. doting mom of the 16th floor) when they will do the
pamamanhikan. The rest of the floors between and outside ours know of our love affair and we've been getting knowing looks the last two working days.
Last week, I did the unthinkable. I introduced him to most of my closest and dearest friends and he has met my parents (and assorted relatives) last night.
(I'm scheduled to meet his on the third week of November for his dad's birthday.) We had three dinners
(his social calendar overflowing), meeting with Cookie, my married friends, and my college friends (my inner circle). My friends know of our plans and think it's way too soon to tell, even though they like him for me. Cookie's skeptical and she wants to wait 6 months if everything is still the same, before she accepts him for me.
My parents also know of our plans and tell me
he's better than any of my exs combined. My brother loves him already and is eager to spend more time with him (and he, too, playing PS2.) They are a bit worried though about our plans because they are cynical about us lasting. My mom said if we're still together next Christmas, he's definitely the one for me.
However, what I love most about my fiancee
(nahks naman!) is that he is determined to make our relationship work, through good and bad. His
commitment unwavering and his
intentions unquestionable.
(After all, he does live in Cavite and I'm 40kms away.) We are aligned in so many ways and the others, we are complementary. He understands me, and I him.
In his own words,
I never imagined to find someone who fits me to a "T". She can finish any sentence I begin. She can say my thoughts out loud before the words leave my mouth. She knows exactly what buttons to push to drive me crazy. She can deliver the punch line before I finish a joke. She is more than a match for me in any conversation, jib, jibe or jab, leaving me speechless and unable to retaliate. =)
But mostly she's sweet and caring and she understands me so well.
She completes me like the sun completes the solar system, and the engine completes the car.
She's my pootie-pie. =)) And I'm lucky to have found her.
I never thought I'd be this blessed to have found my soul mate and my ever after. I never thought that I'd meet
The One for me, who would love me as I am
(past, flaws, and all) and wouldn't ask for more. He never asked me to change, and wouldn't mind laying the world at my feet.
When I say I LOVE YOU, I mean i love the whole you. No exceptions, no special cases. I love you when you're happy, sad or cranky. I love you when you're blue, red, or green. In short or long whatever you do, I will always love you. =)
When you know, you just do. Right, baby?
